With reverence and affection, we honor the memory of Christiana Madelyn McDuffie, lovingly known as “Crissy,” who departed this life on February 12, 2024, in Salisbury, Maryland, at the young age of 28. Born on January 24, 1996, in Somers Point, New Jersey, Crissy's life was a portrait of determination and unwavering resolve to persevere through life's challenges.
A proud graduate of Wicomico High School in 2015, Crissy pursued her interests with enthusiasm and joy. As an elementary and middle school student, she excelled at cheerleading, a field where she exhibited talent and leadership. She was a lover of beauty and creativity, which she expressed through her passion for cosmetology. Animals held a special place in her heart, as did the culinary arts, where she delighted in cooking and baking. Her leisure time often found her immersed in the world of gaming, finding community and challenge in the digital world.
Crissy will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her parents, Ron McLean and Chris Van Dyke; her brothers, Paul McDuffie, Jr. and Anthony McLean Van Dyke; and her sister, Tyshona McLean Van Dyke. She will also be fondly remembered by her aunts and uncles, Carolyn McLean (Nathaniel Hunter), Vicki McLean, Michelle Van Dyke (Frank Selph), Melissa Van Dyke (Dale Campbell), James McLean (Patricia), Kevin Van Dyke (Jennifer), Keith Van Dyke, Kurt Van Dyke (Vicki), and Kendal Van Dyke (Cathy); and her birth parents, Aisha Muhamed and Paul McDuffie, Sr., as well as a constellation of extended family members and friends. Her spirit is reunited with her uncles Clifford, Martin, Charles, and Frank McLean, who preceded her in passing.
The family invites relatives, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Crissy to celebrate her life on March 15, 2024, at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E. Main St., Salisbury, Maryland. Visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM.
