Born and raised in Salisbury, he was the son of the late David Jason Morris, Sr. and Frances Wooten. Mr. Morris attended Wicomico High School. He especially loved his shop classes and working on cars. He became a carpenter by trade, and built many of the houses in the area. He met Marjorie Armentrout in 1973, and then married in 1975. He had a country band proudly named “Carrot Top and Country Pride” that played at many different events throughout the years. He was proud to participate in a number of charity events where he also acted as the MC and auctioneer, including the MDA Jerry Lewis Telethon for ten years at Buddy Shell.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris is preceded in death by an infant daughter Sandra Lynn Morris, an infant grandson John Michael “JJ” Tatum, Jr., and three brothers. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Marjorie, “Woman” Morris; children, Carla (Bobby) Long, Christina (Buddy) Bozman, Nicole Twiford, and Shannon (John) Tatum. He also leaves to mourn his grandchildren Matthew, Christen, Chad, Grant, Madison, Logan, Ashlynd, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will take place at 11:00a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E Main St., Salisbury. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Pastor Kevin Wackett, of Bethany Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens, Hebron, MD. Following the interment, friends are invited to join the family at the Powellville Fire Dept. for food and fellowship
