Dolores was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, which was where she met her devoted husband of 48 years, John R. Conn. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters. After relocating to the eastern shore of Maryland in 1995, Dolores spent 18 years with the Town of Ocean City before retiring.
Dolores and John enjoyed hosting parties and planning weekend ski trips to the Poconos, which is where the couple honeymooned. In recent years, Dolores thrived in her role as ‘Grammy,’ where she was a giver of cuddles, treats and presents, fixer of ‘stuffies,’ sideline fan at t-ball and soccer games and master board game player.
Dolores enjoyed creative writing, reading, knitting, drinking wine, relaxing in the pool, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a great partner in the kitchen while John cooked, and she loved to brag about the meals he made. Dolores’ home was arguably the cleanest most people have ever seen. She was a strong-minded, independent woman with a quick wit, knack for finances and more recently, enjoyed staying abreast of national politics.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents Thomas P., and Helen Loughead McCormick, sister Donna, daughter Jennifer and many dear family members. In addition to her loving husband John, she will be forever missed by her daughter Kristen, son-in-law Aaron, grandchildren Coralee and Jackson, her sisters Helen Cassidy and Chris Wright, as well as many family and friends.
A Celebration of Dolores’ Life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021 at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E Main St., Salisbury, MD . Following the service at the funeral home family and friends will be welcomed at the Conn’s house, 102 Ann Court Berlin, MD for food and continued fellowship starting at 1 p.m.
