Saddened and shocked hardly express my emotions at learning of the passing of Don Beach ten days ago. I had recently seen and chatted with him and he seemed so much the same old Don, happy, joking, always laughing and smiling. Beyond the shock and the sadness, though, I reflect upon him and the good times and good cheer he brought everywhere I ever saw him, with lots of happy memories and with the certainty that there will never be another quite like him. I think he made his mark on everyone who knew him. He will be sorely missed. My sincere sympathy and condolences to his family and loved ones.

So sorry to hear Big Don has made his voyage to Heaven. Nothing but fond memories in my heart. Enjoyed so much playing at The Barn with IN-A-JAM for Don and all of his friends and relatives...and there were so many. He will always be remembered by me with that great big smile on his face. Prayers to the entire family.

Glenda J really summed up my feelings too. May happy memories give comfort to the whole family. I will certainly miss his smiling face, waves and hearty hellos!

When you grow up in Hebron somehow you think the people that were in your life will always be in your life. Life gets busy. Time passes.. you don’t visit often. You see them in passing say hello. You catch up on life in a quick passing. Don and Glenda Beach were such a huge part of my life growing up. They were great friends of my parents. They have always felt like part of my family even as the years put distance between us. One of my fondest memories was going to Beach’s Garage to see if Don Beach would fix my training wheel on my bike because it wasn’t hitting the ground like it was suppose to. That day I left there with no training wheels on my bike. Don Beach took them off and taught me how to ride my bike before I left there. Every time I would see him he would say “Hey Glenda J!” I was J and Glenda Beach was Glenda B. They always treated me as one of there own. Hebron will never be the same with out them. I feel so honored to have been named after Glenda and to have had both of you in my life. David, Doug, Dean, Mike and your families, I pray that you find comfort in the coming days cherishing the memories and knowing what wonderful people they were. Hebron will never be the same .

We are sorry for your loss. Mr. Don was a very nice man with a heart of gold. He always had a smile on his face. He loved all his sons and Charlie was his sidekick as he would say. Bingo at the carnival will not be the same without him.

At the time of his passing he held the postion of Engineer and in the past has held the positions of Chief, 1st Assistant Chief, 2nd Assistant Chief, Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, President, Treasure and Trustee. Anyone that has been in the fire service for any amount of time knew Don and how much love and dedication he had for the Hebron VFD.
