Dorothea “Sue” P. Tuohy, 88, of Salisbury passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at her home. Born March 15, 1935 she was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte Pittinger. Sue graduated from Washington High School in Princess Anne in 1952 and then graduated from the PGH School of Nursing in 1955. She began her career at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was one of the first three original OR nurses. For most of her career she worked in the OR in Freehold, NJ and then when her and her husband moved back to Salisbury she worked at Genesis Nursing Home until she retired. She was an animal lover and showed her poodle Busy in Rally.
She is survived by her daughter Lesley Weihs and her husband Ron; son, John Tuohy and his wife Danielle; granddaughter, Nicole Tuohy; and her beloved poodles, Sacha and Stoli. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward K. Tuohy in 2007.
