Erica approached life with a sense of adventure, determination and optimism. She loved to travel, to explore, to create, to learn. She was a nurturer. She loved to host and be surrounded by people. She expressed her creativity and love through baking, cooking, gardening, knitting, and needle felting. She would often bring several dozen cookies to my office asking for honest feedback on some new recipes! I would arrive home to find a grocery bag full of fresh baked bread or scones or some other delicious treat. At Christmas, I enjoy hanging the handmade felt Christmas stockings and the felt ornaments she created. When my son was born she knitted him the most beautiful blanket and sweater. She was fun. She bought fireworks for the kids on 4th of July and made awesome homemade Halloween costumes for the boys. When I think of her, I see her in her kitchen or on the beach always treating my son to delicious snacks! She was a good listener. She would call just to say hi and see how I was doing and honestly listen and care about my response. These are stories that everyone who knew her will relate to because she extended this love, caring, and generosity to everyone. She cared so deeply about her family and I believe nothing brought her more joy than being with them and caring for them. Her face lit up when she spoke of her boys and most everything she did, she did it for them. She will be missed in so many big and small ways.

Erica, our hearts are broken from your sudden physical departure from this earth. You are still here with us in so many ways and forever will be. One of my happiest memories was when we all went to Williamsburg and spent an evening playing Uno and decorating “Ugly Christmas Sweater” cookies. You always brought something fun to the table, and your legacy will live on in the wonderful imagination and creativity that you instilled in Liam & Hayden. I truly admire you for being such an awesome mom, and hearing about the many adventures of your family (no matter how big or small) always inspired joy. I’ll remember you with the sound of crashing ocean waves, with the smell of delicious baking, and whenever beautiful flowers are in bloom or I see an adorable garden gnome. Until we meet again my friend, my family.

Although I only knew Erica through my daughter, I felt the need to express my gratitude for such a kind , well rounded, genuine soul. Erica is truly the kind of person you as a parent want your daughter to take example from . She touched my daughter in such a deep way , through her daily nurturing of her children and husband. I thank God for the time he allowed her to share her goodness with her , and pray that there can be peace in the hearts of those she loved .

With thoughts and prayers ,
(Crystals mom)

Dearest Kevin, Liam, Hayden, Mike, and all the rest of the family,
Erica was perhaps one of the kindest souls I’ll ever know. And fun!! I have SO many memories of horse shows, riding lessons, days on the beach, and laughter. She was an excellent listener and was prepping me with River stories as we begin our journey with our red heeler puppy, Disco. She constantly inspired me with her home renovations, baking, sewing, and crafting. I am grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to call her my friend. My heart is with you all.
