Freddie "Jay" Harold Vance Jr.

Freddie “Jay” Harold Vance, Jr., 53, of Marion Station passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 at Med Star Washington Hospital in Washington DC. Born April 22, 1970 he was the son of Freddie Vance, Sr. and the late Nancy Jones Vance. Jay graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1989 and joined the United States Army where he served in Dessert Storm. He was an avid fisherman and loved riding his Harley Davidson.

In addition to his father Freddie he is survived by his fiancé Patricia Armstrong; six children, Timothy Vance (Fran), Kasie Vance (Anthony), Andrew Vance (Hailey), Allison Johnson, Makayla Vance, and Savannah Armstrong; ten grandchildren, Brayden Hawks, Brody Smith, Brycen Vance, Corbin Harvey, Carson Harvey, Leland Harvey, Denver Harvey, Dallas Harvey, Maverick Vance, and Palmer Rae Vance; seven sisters, Shelley White, April Vance (Timothy Ellis), Crystal Vance (Mike Culley), Jessica Johnson, Amanda Blake (Jeremy Smith), Sarah Champagne (Louis) and Bobbie Bull (Chuckie LeBerge); three aunts, Nancy Malnor, Bonnie Willey, and Linda Larmore; three special cousins he considered his brothers, JB Vance (Vicki), Jamie Vance (Debbie), Allen Vance (Patti); future mother-in-law, Deborah Armstrong; his pit bull puppy, Peanut Vance; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. In addition to his mother, Nancy he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Annie Vance and numerous uncles and aunts.

A Celebration of Jay's Life will be held Sunday, January 21, 2023 at 3pm at the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Company, 7442 Gumboro Rd, Pittsville, MD 21850.
