George Brittain "Butch" Norcross
December 14, 1947 – January 8, 2019
George Brittain Norcross (Butch) age 71, passed into the arms of Jesus Monday, January 8, 2019 at 5am in Genesis -Salisbury. He died from complications of heart and diabetes disease. George was born on Dec.14, 1947 at Bay Shores Hospital, in Long Island, N.Y.
He worked for Bell South for 30 years, becoming a well-respected lead lineman. He retired Oct.2.1999. He then worked for Whites Construction as a line borer setting electric lines underground. He retired a good 5 yrs later due to his declining health. Married Candice Littleton on April 11, 1998. They were married 20 yrs. George enjoyed woodworking and made many wonderful toys and decorative items. He also enjoyed anything trains. Visiting Amish friends in Lancaster with his wife and fishing in younger years in Florida w/ his parents were his joys. Memberships included CWA and Pioneers, Sons of American Legion Post 37, Hebron, Chincoteague Legacy Group, Rockawalkin Church, where he was a Trustee and attended worship, helped w/ Bible School as a crossing guard and was a greater on Sunday morning at the back door. George was President of our HOA for many years until he became unable. George graduated from Severna Park High School, 1965, and went to Community College for a brief time.
Survivors include his wife: Candice Norcross, mother; Patricia Norcross, step children : Jody Neal(David), Michael Fletcher (Debbi), Kristi Truitt (Mark), 9 step grands: Brandon Grove, Corey Grove, Lauren Vogler (James), Derek Neal, Christian Fletcher, Chad Fletcher, Caleb Fletcher, Chase Fletcher, Jessie Cropper, and 5 great grands, sister Gail Booker (Ron), brother Geoffery, nephew, Matthew Booker (Traci) and son Marshall, as well as many friends and co-workers. He was predeceased by his father George A. Norcross.
There will be a Memorial service Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 3pm at Rockawalkin United Methodist Church in Hebron,Md.,
