

Irene Hopkins Morehead, 94, of Salisbury died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born September 24, 1920 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late George W. Hopkins and Irene Teubner Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Douglas Morehead; grandson, Jon Kai Haramoto; two brothers, George W. Hopkins, Jr. and C. Teubner Hopkins; and sister, Margaret Hopkins Fields. Irene served in the United States Navy Waves during WWII in Pearl Harbor from 1943- 1945. She was employed by Wicomico Social Services until her retirement. She enjoyed a quiet life after her retirement. She loved her family, friends, and her garden. She tended them all with loving care. She is survived by her son, Bryan D. Morehead and his wife Susan H. Morehead of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Jeannie M. Haramoto and her husband Stanley T. Haramoto of Westover; grandson, Kalani Haramoto of Laurel, MD; nieces, Jeanne H. Marvel of Haddonfield, NJ and Stephanie H. Smith of Ocean View; and nephew, Frank H. Fields of Salisbury. Our family sincerely thanks everyone at Coastal Hospice for their support guidance, and comfort during the last days of our Mother’s life.
