Irmin Otto Kamm

Mr. Kamm is survived by his son, Helmut Kamm and his wife, Deborah Gabry; three grandchildren,

Kelly, Jesse and Joseph Kamm; his sisters Vicky and Gwen and his loving care giver, Tammy

Bollinger. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Kamm in 2018, and his son, Stephen

Kamm in 2021.

Mr. Kamm was born in Berlin, Germany and arrived in Dayton, Ohio as a young man, After graduating from the University of Dayton in 1951, he moved to New Jersey where he received a Master’s Degree from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1956. Mr. Kamm was a well-respected educator and researcher having been a professor of automotive engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology and a director of Davidson Labs until his retirement in 1987 and relocation to Nanticoke, Maryland.

Mr. Kamm enjoyed doing everything that involved engineering. He was creative and spent many hours in his shop where he used his many skills and talents to fix whatever broken item was brought to him. It was pure enjoyment for Irmin to fix whatever and to improve it if he could. He spent many hours tending to the Nanticoke property and still found time to enjoy sailing, fishing, kayaking and volunteering at the Westside Volunteer Fire Department where he was an EMS First Responder and member of the Fire Police. Westside Volunteer Fire Department honored Mr. Kamm with a lifetime membership for his 30 plus years of dedicated service.

Irmin Kamm touched many lives from family, to friends, to students and colleagues. He will be forever in our hearts, and those who were blessed enough to meet him, will never forget his kindness, compassion and willingness to help anyone who asked.
