Jennie Edna Lewis

Jennie Edna Lewis, 95, of Pittsville passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born in Gumboro, DE she was the daughter of the late George and Maggie Brittingham. Edna worked for many years as a poultry farmer. She was a member of Friendship UMC in Pittsville and played the piano for many years at Friendship, Mt. Pleasant, and Powellville Churches on the Powellville Charge. She is survived by six children, Jean Johnson and her husband Bill, Betty Davis and her husband Bob, William “Billy” Lewis, Shirley Warrington, Connie Lewis-Young and her husband Ed, Peggy Moore and her husband Donald; eight grandchildren, Keith Davis, Theresa Warrington (Cindy Engle), Michele Lewis (David Carey), Billy Lewis, Jr., Carol Warrington, Sharon Phillips-Taylor (David Taylor), Natalie Moore, and Craig Moore; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan Costello, Lindsey Lewis, Taylor Lewis, Christopher Warrington, Brandon Taylor (Courtney), Glenda Taylor-Bear (Jamie), Andrew Taylor, Ryan Davis; three great-great-grandsons, David, Brendan, and Aaron Bear; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland C. Lewis in 1968; infant daughter, Gail Lewis; and sister, Mary Elliott.
