Jeri Lane Good passed to be with her Lord on October 3, 2018 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland after a hard battle over the last two weeks. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. R. and Ruby Alford, her sister, Kathleen R. Smith of Leesville, Louisiana and her infant daughter Pamela. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William J. Good who has been her primary caretaker for the last 3 years; her children and their spouses, Randy Johnson and wife Julia of the Dominican Republic, Ronnie Johnson and his wife JoAnne of Richmond, Virginia, and Sheila and her husband, George Dodson of Fairhope, Alabama. She leaves behind three loving grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Johnson and Heather of Richmond, VA, Kathleen Freeman and husband Jeremy of Fuqua Varina, North Carolina and Diana Skibenes and husband James of Fairhope, Alabama. She leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren from seven months to 14 years old. Even though her health kept her from seeing her family as often as she would have liked, she surrounded herself with pictures and memories of those she loved. She is also survived by her brother, William R. Alford and wife Patti of DeRidder, Louisiana along with 2 nephews and one niece, and two grand-nieces. Jeri was born in Chico, California on October 22, 1938. Her family returned to Vernon Parish in Louisiana when she was a young child. She lived in Leesville, Louisiana until she came to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1963 with her husband Bill. She spent her life caring for her family, working as a department manager at Sears, dental assistant to Paul Kuk and a Cashier at Soft Touch Car Wash until her retirement. She loved the outdoors, especially being around the water. Her favorite place was at the cabin at Vernon Lake, Louisiana. She was a member of the Red Hat ladies and loved to play games and cards with her friends. She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church but due to health, primarily gained support from various television evangelists. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens.
