Joan Creyghton Alling, 88, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at her home. Born in 1933 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Creyghton. Joan worked for the Department of Agriculture for over thirty years. In addition, she was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where for many years she was a lector and she also volunteered for the Joseph House. When they lived in Kent Island years prior, she was a volunteer for Hospice. She was also a cat lover throughout her life.
She is survived by her son, Norman Hudson-Taylor and his wife Diana; two step sons, Mark S. Alling and wife Sarah, Curtis Alling and wife Kim, 3 grandsons, Daniel Alling, Brian Alling and wife Amanda, Corey Alling; one granddaughter, Chelsea Campbell and husband Zach; 2 great-granddaughters, Evelyn and Marilyn Alling. She is also survived by her brother Gary Creyghton, and sisters, Carol Johnson and MaryLou Baker, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Edwin S. Alling in 2018.
A visitation will be held at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022 from 12:30-1:30pm and a graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Springhill Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Joan to St. Francis de Sales located at 514 Camden Avenue, Salisbury MD 21801 and the Humane Society of Wicomico County at 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
