

Joyce Williams Mullinix Little, 86, of Salisbury and formerly of Damascus passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born on the family farm “Maple Heights” on August 13, 1929 in Damascus, she was the daughter of the late Harold Winstead Mullinix and Leone Williams Mullinix. Joyce attended Damascus High School but since she needed a Latin course in order to pursue a career in Nursing she transferred to Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville and graduated there with the Class of 1947. In 1950 she graduated from The Union Memorial School of Nursing in Baltimore where she met and married her husband of 28 years, the late Dr. Glenn A. Little, Jr. in 1951 and worked in the Nursing field until her sons were born. She worked a number of years in her husband’s dental office and then after his death returned to Nursing at Salisbury Nursing Home until she retired in 1994. She was a member and active volunteer of Rockawalkin United Methodist Church in Salisbury and served as Treasurer of United Methodist Women. She is survived by her sons, Art Little and his wife, Barbara Tymkiw of Crownsville, and Darrell Little of Salisbury; granddaughter, Katherine Little; sisters, Betty Morris and her husband Barry of Williamsport, and Barbara Grigg of Frederick; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, and her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Mullinix, Jr. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11am at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Rd., Damascus, MD 20872 and Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11am at Rockawalkin United Methodist Church, 6777 Rockawalkin Rd., Hebron, MD 21830. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joyce to Rockawalkin United Methodist Church.
