Lyle was a proud WWII Navy Veteran. He worked as a supervisor at Poplar Hill Correctional Camp and later drove for Brooks Armor Car. He was a member of the East Side Memorial Post 2296 VFW in Willards, American Legion Post 64, 149 Redmens Tony Tank Tribe and donated to many Veterans Causes. He was a hard worker and at 88 years old he could still be found with a chainsaw in his hand working in his yard.
He is survived by his son, Wayne Lyle Howard and his wife Brenda; three grandchildren; Arlene Jennifer King and her husband, James, Shane Lyle Howard and his wife Nichole and Trevor Wayne Howard; great-grandchildren, Justin King, Amanda King, Dakota Howard, Sierra Howard, Levi Howard, and Charley Howard.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, January 10 2024 at 2pm at Parsons Cemetery on Division St in Salisbury.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Lyle to your local VFW or American Legion or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
