Marguerite Cox Insley, 97, of Salisbury and formerly of Nanticoke, MD went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at her home. Born June 16, 1927 in Waterview, MD she was the daughter of the late Howard W. Cox and Kathryn Messick Cox.
She was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and Goldy Beacom College. Marguerite started her career in Salisbury with Chesapeake Airways, then later transferring to Baltimore and then to Arlington, VA where she worked for US Airways for 30 years. She was a Member of the Nanticoke United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for over 20 years. Upon moving to Salisbury to live with her daughter, she most recently attended Christ Methodist Church. She also volunteered at the church thrift shop in Bivalve.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Murphy of Salisbury, two step-daughters, Wendy Ringer and Kathy Nicholson, both of Hebron; two grandsons, Christopher Murphy (Tracie) of Delmar MD and Jonathan Murphy (Elisabeth) of Salisbury; four step-grandchildren, Kristina Webb (Dustin), HC Insley (Sarah Jane), Henry Hastings (Tamari), and Seth Nicholson; great-granddaughter, Quinn, and several step-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Donna Insley; and a former son-in-law, Bobby Murphy.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Herman Clifford Insley, Jr. (2008); a sister, Mary Louise Insley (1978) and a stepson, Howard Insley.
A Visitation will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 from 12pm- 2pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury. There will be a Celebration of Marguerite’s Life on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nanticoke United Methodist Church, 20549 Nanticoke Rd in Nanticoke where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Pastor Courtland H. Cropper, Rev. Dr. William L. Warren, and Pastor Joel Beiler will officiate. A private family interment will be held in Tyaskin Cemetery.
