Marguerite "Marge" E. Oursler

Marguerite “Marge” E. Oursler, 85, of Salisbury was received home by the Lord on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Salisbury Nursing Home. Born in Georgetown, DE she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Maggie White Jones. Marge grew up in Laurel, Delaware and graduated from Laurel High School. While working at C&P Telephone Company, she met and married the love of her life Warren Oursler whom she was married to for 48 years until his passing in 1997. She retired from State Farm Insurance Company where she worked as a claims adjuster. Marge and Warren enjoyed living in Florida 6 months of the year where they were shuffleboard champions, avid bridge players, and league bowlers. She was a high spirited and colorful woman all of her life. Marge loved her church family at Crossroads Church of God and participated in church functions, especially field trips. She is survived by her children, Sharon O. Hammond (Jim) and son, Jamie (Kristi), their daughter Kasie, and daughter Jessica (Jordan) their daughter Makenna, Trudy O. Bounds (Kenny) daughter Erin (Steve) their children, Ethan, Skylar, and Jordi, and Michael W. Oursler (Jenny) daughter, Jana (Mike),their children, Alex and Laira, son Jory (Jamie).She is also survived by brothers, Marvin Jones (Sharon), Keith Jones (Susan), and Dale Jones; sister, Karen Layfield (Clark); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Oursler, daughter, Michelle A. Oursler; brother, Bill Jones; and sister, Charlotte Gould. The family would like to express their thanks to John B. Parsons Assisted Living, Salisbury Nursing Home, and Peninsula Regional Medical Center for the kind and compassionate care given to their Mom. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11AM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. John Kalfayan will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Marge to Crossroads Church of God, 708 Sharps Point Rd., Fruitland, MD 21826.
