OBITUARY

Marie A. Spallino

September 23, 1924February 11, 2021

Marie Spallino, 96, of Seaford, Delaware and formerly of Salisbury, Maryland, died Thursday February 11, 2021 at Methodist Manor House in Seaford. Marie was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 23, 1924. Marie’s parents, Antoinette (Pellettieri) and Mauro Frascella, were both born in Southern Italy and made their way to the United States where they met and married in 1923. Marie grew up in Brooklyn where she met the love of her life, Frank Spallino, when she was just a teenager. Marie and Frank married in 1944 and continued to live in Brooklyn until 1955 when they moved to Bethpage, Long Island and raised their 3 children – Camille Ann, Nicholas Frank, and Annette Marie. Marie was the grandmother of five and great grandmother of seven. Marie was predeceased by Frank who passed away in 1999. Marie loved food … cooking and eating it were her passions. It didn’t take much encouragement for her to make her gravy and meatballs or any other dish that was requested. Marie loved gardening, traveling with the Red Hat Society, and touring Europe with her daughter. Marie was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury where she volunteered at the Carriage House. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (535 Riverside Drive, Salisbury, Maryland). Entombment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens (27260 Ocean Gateway, Hebron, Maryland). Arrangements are being handled by the Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury.
