She had some of the most amazing caregivers over the past four years who became like family.
She also had a very special group of friends / neighbors who she loved getting together with on a regular basis. They gave her a lot of joy in her life after she became a widow.
Mary’s grandchildren were her world. She took them on family vacations every summer and attended every event or activity in which they participated. Mommom was truly their biggest fan. She was the ultimate soccer Mommom, even traveling to watch them play soccer in college! She kept a memento box for each of her seven grandchildren. Each box included several photo albums, things from when they were babies, newspaper clippings for every game they ever played in, including an index card with the score and what each grandchild did in every game. She saved so many special memories/mementos from their childhood years. Mommom truly was one of a kind.
Mary also got so much joy from doing kind things for others whether it was making food for them or sending a thinking of you card. She volunteered at her grandchildren’s schools and participated in many other volunteer activities over the years. She truly got so much pleasure from doing for others.
