Nadine Coar Pusey, 83, of Tyaskin, Maryland passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born December 12, 1942, in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William Seyfert Coar and Josephine Bowers Coar, and sister to the late Lance Seyfert Coar. She is survived by her brother, William Seyfert Coar and sister, Ingrid Kimberly Coar.
Nadine attended Springfield Township High School and studied Nursing at Peninsula General Hospital, where she became a nurse for several years. Nadine was dedicated to helping others throughout her life. She was a long-time volunteer member of West Side Fire Department Auxiliary in Bivalve, MD, where she served for 60 years. Nadine cared for the people of this organization and loved to serve her community through their numerous events and vital community services. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 36 years, Willard Leonard “Sparky” Pusey in 2023, who retired as a Deputy Maryland State Fire Marshal.
Nadine loved to travel around the world with her mother and continued to do so with Sparky. Nadine also was a lover of animals and cherished her dogs, Raggs and Abbey, and most recently her goose, Raptor who lived in the pond behind her home. She was a lifelong fan of NASCAR and lived to fulfill her dream to drive a race car on the speedway with her husband.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11am at West Side Fire Department, 21045 Nanticoke Rd, Bivalve, MD 21814 where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. A private family interment will be held in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Chestertown.
