Pauline Sarah Burke

Pauline Sarah Burke, 77, of Salisbury died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Berlin Nursing Home. Born in Hebron she was the daughter of the late Willie and Mable Brown Parsons. Mrs. Burke worked as a CNA at Hartley Hall in Pocomoke for 9 ½ years and Waterview Nursing Home for 24 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that enjoyed cooking for her family. She is survived by three sons, David Freeman Burke and his wife Edna, Oral Robert Burke and his wife Donna, and Norwood Burke; two daughters, Verona Lawrence and her husband William, Jr. and Faith Burke and her husband Jeffrey Whaley; thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; granddogs, Cassy and Bear Burke; brothers, Willey, Rex, Roy, and Mike Parsons; sisters, Judy Parsons, Sylvia Parsons, and Virginia Burke; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Freeman Burke, Jr. in 2002; brother, Warren Parsons; sisters, Mary Messick, Geraldine Elliott, Mable Marie Dunham, and Patsy Patricia Parsons. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2PM at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
