Robert “Bobby” Fletcher Lambden, Sr., 90, of Salisbury passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, at Tidal Health/PRMC surrounded by his loving family. Born September 12, 1934, in Sanford, VA he was the son of the late Alma Dale Fletcher Gladden and Elsie Gladden.
After attending Atlantic (Arcadia) High School Bobby entered the Marines during the Korean War. While serving he met the love of his life, Thelma Townsend Lambden at a dance. He worked for Moore’s Business Forms, Mount Hermon Hatchery, Perdue Poultry, Conn Deisel, and retired from Imperial Cup Company. Bobby enjoyed working in his yard and spent quality time with his wife, Thelma L. Lambden. He spent many days enjoying his family and attending all his grandchildren’s and several great-grandchildren’s events and team sports.
He is survived by two sons, Robert "Bobby" F. Lambden Jr. and his wife Lori, Jeffrey “Tommy” Lambden; daughter, Jenny Sue Ellis and significant other, Toby. granddaughters, Kelsey, Jenna, Brooke, and Jade; great-grandchildren, Jordynn, Camrynn, Caden, Za’Ryia, Za’Lea, Zaylah, Christian, and great-great-granddaughter, Iza’Rae; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Keith Lambden; sister, Mary Lou Core, and half-siblings.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E. Main Street, Salisbury, MD, where friends may visit two hours prior to the service. Interment will be held at Downings Cemetery in Oak Hall, VA. Pastor Buzz Gregory will officiate. Family requests casual dress.
