Robert J. Schindler

Robert “Bob” John Schindler, 93, of Salisbury and formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at his home, The Village at Harbor Pointe. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY he was the son of the late Louis John Schindler and Louise Lang Schindler. Bob grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY with Gerry whom he later married in 1945. He served in the United States Army in the European Theatre. After college he worked as an Accountant and a Salesman for IBM. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is survived by two nieces, Judy Frasco and Jane Flanagan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Geraldine “Gerry” V. Schindler in 2011 and his son, John Hoyt Schindler. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
