Russell Marvin Miles, 89, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021 at TidalHealth in Salisbury. Born April 3, 1931 in Machipongo, VA, he was the son of the late John Marvin Miles and Locke Carpenter Miles.
Mr. Miles served in the United States Air Force where he played trumpet in the Air Force Band. He was well known for playing in the Delmarva Big Band, several Florida Big Bands, and the Don Howard Band. He worked as a Rehabilitation Specialist for the State of Maryland until his retirement in 1991.
He is survived by three children, Glenn Miles (Nina), Brenda Goolsby-Perez (Mario), and Jan Miles; and a grandson, Thomas Goolsby. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Janice L. Miles, on February 27, 2020.
