Thomas Russell Shockley, Sr., 91, of Parsonsburg passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 26, 1933, in Princess Anne, MD he was the son of the late Jospeh Poston Shockley and Dorothy Etta Willey Shockley.
After working for Coca Cola for many years, he was a life insurance agent for many years and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Delmarva Evangelistic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Barbara Ann Baker Shockley; son, Thomas Russell Shockley, Jr. and his wife, Alissa; daughter Deborah Fields; grandson, James Allen Willey, Jr.; great-grandson, Aaron James Willey and his wife Kendall; great-great-granddaughters, Aryanna, Amelia, and Lily; and a special nieces, Connie Ward and her husband, Fred and Diane Watts and her husband Dennis. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Ann Butler in 2007; four brothers, Roger, Calvin, Herbert, and Floyd “Rusty” Shockley; and two sisters, Lola Wilson and Mary Riggin.
A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11am at Dale Cemetery in Whaleyville. Pastor Buzz Gregory will officiate.
