Wilbur “Turner” Messick, Jr., 75, passed away at his residence in Bivalve, MD on Thursday, October 30, 2025. He was born in Salisbury, MD the son of the late Wilbur Turner Messick, Sr. and Phyllis Bradley Messick.
Turner graduated from Wicomico High School in1968. After graduation he proudly served in the US Coast Guard and was a life-long waterman. He worked at Crown, Cork and Seal in Fruitland, MD after serving his country. He took over the family oyster tong shaft business, Messick Bros., after his father’s passing.
He left behind a daughter, K. Melisa Donaway (Craig) and her children, Brandon Messick and Kevin Coleman III; a son, David T. Messick (Brandy) and their children, Addi and Rhett Messick; a sister, Cheryl Herbert (John); and a niece and a nephew.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Bivalve United Methodist Church Cemetery, 20970 Nanticoke Rd. Bivalve, MD. Rev. Courtland Cropper will officiate.
