

William “Bill” Allen Hooper, III, 88, of Salisbury passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 9, 1938, in Mardela Springs he was the son of the late William Allen Hooper, Jr. and Florence Cox Hooper.
Bill retired after 38 years of dedicated service from Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company as a truck driver and also trained new drivers. He enjoyed listening to country music in his backyard, classic cars, attended car shows, and owned a 1956 Ford Customline Sedan. He was a lifetime member of Rockawalkin Ruritan.
On June 28, 1958, he married his loving wife of 67 years and together they built a strong family to include their five children, Cheryl Wallace (Orville), Shelia Dize (Nick), William “Bud” Allen Hooper, IV (LuAnn), Donna Stephens (Roger), and Gary Hooper (Jill). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kevin Wallace, Shannon Hooper, Jennifer Marini, Jason Dize, Ashley Beasley, Chelsi Johnson, Megan Coffey, and Jacob Stephens; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Bounds; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Cooper and his brother, Charles Hooper. He had a great love for his family, friends, and neighbors.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Allen Cemetery.
