He had multiple passions such as playing dominoes, watching the San Antonio Spurs, making cascarones and listening to Mariachi music. His happiest times were when he was surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Welito." He was a wonderful mentor, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Flores was a Parishioner of St. Jude's Catholic church.
He was preceded by his wife Mary T. Flores; brothers Moses Flores, Albert Flores, Adrian Flores and sisters Susie Sanchez and Sara O'Connor.
Survivors include his children Abel T. Flores Jr.(Laura), Norma F. Hernandez(Oscar), Hector T. Flores(Gloria) and Roy T. Flores (Barbara); 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his sister Dora F. Lopez.
The Flores family will receive family and friends from 4:00pm to 10:00pm on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at Roy Akers Funeral Home for the first day of visitation. A second visitation will be held the following day, Monday, September 4, 2023 from 4:00pm to 10pm. A rosary service will be held on Monday, September 4, 2023 at 6:00pm at Roy Akers Funeral Home.
The funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 9:45am on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, for a 10:30am mass of Burial at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 130 S. San Augustine 78237. Intermittent will follow at San Fernando II Catholic Cemetery.
