Alice G. Tijerina

Alice Tijerina went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 14, 2017 at the age of 84. A native of San Antonio, Texas, she was born to Evaristo and Aurelia (Reyes) Gonzales on March 4, 1932. She now reunites with her parents, husband Domingo, daughter Norma, and 4 siblings. She is survived by her children: Yolanda (John) Nizza, Gloria, and Don (Diana Castillo); 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives. Alice was an avid walker who enjoyed gardening and reading in her free time; she practiced and encouraged lifelong learning. Her loving, caring presence will be dearly missed. The family will be receiving guests at Roy Akers funeral home on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Basilica of the Little Flower Catholic church.
