Amparo Silva, joined the Lord at the age of 83 on May 9, 2023 in her family’s home in San Antonio, Texas. Amparo was born in Fentress, Texas to Epemenio Silva and Josefina De Los Santos. She graduated from Sydney Lanier high school and later attended St. Phillips College where she graduated in the nursing field.
Amparo was known for helping everyone and anyone in need. She enjoyed baking and cooking for their family. Amparo loved her family and adored her only son and her grandkids.
Amparo was preceded in death by her parents, Epemenio and Josefina, brothers, Cipriano and David Silva, and her sister and brother-in-law, Olivia and Pete Lira. Amparo is survived by her only son, Guadalupe Cruz Jr., grandchildren; Cipriano, Alyssa, Erika, and Christopher Cruz. Her four great-grandchildren; Gabriel, Kaleb, Christopher-James, and Nathaniel Cruz. Her sister and brother-in-law; Diana and Lee Roy Alexander, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A rosary service will occur on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 7:00 PM.
Final goodbyes will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass at Prince of Peace, 7893 Grissom Rd, San Antonio, TX 78251 at 10:00 AM. Amparo’s graveside service will be at San Fernando #2 Cemetery, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237 at 11:30 AM.
Amparo will be greatly missed by many. May our memories with her last forever as she rests in eternal peace.
