Affectionately known as “La Tía” and "Aunt Angie"

1930 – 2025

Angelina Ramirez, beloved sister, aunt, and great-aunt, entered into eternal rest on November 24, 2025, at the age of 95. The youngest of her siblings, she is preceded in death by her parents, José and Eva Ramirez; her brothers Henry Escobar, Jesse Ortiz, Daniel “Dan” Ramirez, and Martin Ramirez; her sister Eloisa R. Parrilla; and her namesake niece, Evangelina “Nena” E. Gonzales, and husband Antonio F. Gonzales, Sr.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews: Alfred Elizondo and wife Esther; Henry R. Parrilla Jr. and wife Socorro; Frank R. Parrilla and wife Angela; Eva Correa; Yolanda Briones and husband George; Carmen Guajardo; Elsie; Rosemary; Danny Ramirez; and Jesse Ortiz and wife Grace. She is also lovingly survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, great-great-great-nieces and nephews, and many other cherished relatives and friends.

Aunt Angie lived a life full of laughter, faith and devotion to those she loved. She was affectionately known as the Queen (“Grandma”) of Bar America, where she made countless memories and lifelong friendships. She especially treasured attending Spurs games with her niece Nena and family, dining out, and spending precious time with her family.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Alejandro Lerma, and to all her doctors, friends, neighbors, and family members who lovingly cared for her throughout the years. She will be deeply and dearly missed by everyone whose life she touched.

Services:

The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, for a Celebration of Life Mass at 9:30 a.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
