She graduated from Tech (Fox Tech) High School in 1958. While working a fulltime job she decided to pursue a college degree, achieving her goal by receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration in 1991 from Park University at JBSA Lackland AFB TX.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved, cared, and provided for her children and grandchildren. She was a teacher, advisor, leader, and role model, who was always there for her family. While working full time, she was still able to assist as needed at the Little League baseball field, where our dad was president of Palm Heights Little League. She also found time to tutor high school teens after a full day of work. She ensured all felt heard and loved.
She was a long time and devoted member of the Guadalupana Society for St. John Berchmans Catholic Church here in San Antonio TX; serving as a member since 1993. As a Guadalupana she helped and worked with other Guadalupanas by providing financial support to meet parish needs, was involved in a variety of fundraising activities, and helped coordinate a yearly Mass for the Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration in December, and gathered every second Sunday of the month at the 8 am liturgy. She served on many occasions as Treasurer within the Guadalupana organization.
She loved playing Bingo and Bunco (hosting many Bunco gatherings). She also had a large collection of Porcelain Dolls. She enjoyed sewing dresses and tops for her daughter and making costumes for Halloween, and many School & Religious events for her grandchildren. She loved cooking, making such goodies as tamales, champurrado, and buñuelos, and baking all kinds of other favorites for her family so much, even after she could no longer stand for long, she continued doing these things while sitting on a chair.
