

Antonio M. Molano entered eternal rest in San Antonio, Texas, on August 21, 2016 at the age of 101. He was born in Del Rio,Texas on February 3, 1915 to Catarino C. and Manuela Molano; and is preceded in death by his parents and 12 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth Molano; daughter Alpha Cobarruvias and husband David; grandson Aaron J. Cobarruvias and wife Sheri; and numerous nieces and nephews. Antonio faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the battles of Rome-Arno and Naples-Foggia from September 19, 1942 until his injury on June 5, 1944. He served active duty with the 913th Field Artillery Battalion of the 88th Infantry Division known as “The Blue Devils.” He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Good Conduct, and European African Middle Eastern Services Medals. Antonio was a lifelong member of VFW Post 8315 from Schertz and the American Disabled Vets Organization. After the service he became exceptional with wood work and gardening. He kept his mind occupied with puzzles and enjoyed listening to all types of music especially Tejano and Norteno. His most memorable times were spent with his family during back yard BBQ’s or in the presence of his loved ones. The family will be receiving guests at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Avenue on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Services will continue on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 with a 9:00 a.m. Celebration of Life at Trinity Church, 5415 N.
