Arthur J. Ramirez

Arthur Joseph Ramirez, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, entered rest on December 21, 2014 at the age of 90. A native of San Antonio, he was born to Guadalupe and Maria Ramirez on October 18, 1924. He honorably served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII, retiring from civil service after over 30 years. Arthur was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion, and enjoyed cooking for their functions. He also enjoyed listening to music, dancing, playing pool and traveling. He will be missed greatly. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raul Ramirez; sister, Eulalia Ramirez; daughter, Yolanda Ramirez; son, Roger J. Ramirez; and wife, Rosalinda Ramirez. He is survived by son, Arthur J. Ramirez II and wife Nancy; daughter, Christine Sedbrook and husband Darrel; numerous grand and great-grandchildren and other relatives. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2015 to celebrate a 9:00 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
