

Arturo Gutierrez was born and raised in San Antonio to Arturo Trevino Gutierrez and Ana Garcia Gutierrez. Arturo grew up with his two brothers Ernesto and Alfredo. He attended St. Ann Catholic Church where he served as an altar boy. Arturo attended Antonian High School and later went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts from UTSA and a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Arturo proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was also a Freemason. Arturo had a successful career as a federal agent. He started in the Border Patrol and then retired as a Special Investigator from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). While working for the federal government Arturo served as the Immigration Attaché in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Arturo was a voracious reader and taught his children the importance of books, hard work, and to be optimistic. He also had a very good sense of humor. Arturo had two children Ana and Arturo, whom he loved very much. In his last year of life Arturo was delighted with his granddaughters Aurora and Analyssa. Arturo is survived by his father Arturo, brothers Ernesto (Susan), Alfred (Blanca) and his children Ana (Jose) and Arturo (Alicia) and granddaughters. A Visitation will be held on Monday December 12, 2016 from 5 to 9 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm, at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday December 13, 2016 at 10 am at St. Paul Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
