

Aurora R. Garcia, born on December 14, 1942, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2015 at the age of 72. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years; Ricardo Garcia, parents; Elias and Aurora Regalado, Father and Mother in-laws; Jose and Trinidad Flores. She is survived by her children, Cynthia A. Lopez (David), Ricardo Reyes (Maria), Debra Ann Garcia; grandchildren, Erica, Ricardo Jr., Brittany, David, Nathan, John, Brianna, Fernando, Andrea, great-grandchildren; Daniel, Julian, Nora, Bailey, and soon to be new arrival, brother; Elias Regalado Jr. (Rachel), in-laws; Rosemary Corpus (Ruben), Diana Martinez, Jo Ann Mora (Juan), Ernest Flores (Lupe), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Aurora was a majorette and athlete of Thomas Jefferson High School. In her earlier years, Aurora worked at Shaw’s and Lloyd’s Jewelers, Grayson’s Department Store, Builder’s Square Corporate, Color Spot Nurseries, and retired from Valero Energy Corporation as a top accounts receivable/payable specialist. She was the founder and first President of the St. John Berchman’s Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a member of ACTS, Guadalupanas, and the Crusillista De Colores. She did volunteer work for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program, but devoted most of her time working as a truancy mentor for school aged children through the Valero Energy Corporation. Aurora was a faithful community member of Edgewood ISD, giving countless hours of support to the students and athletes of the district and John F. Kennedy High School. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. John Berchman’s Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Road, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 for a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. John Berchman’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
