He graduated from Roosevelt High School 1969, where he played Tenor and Baritone Saxophone for the Marching and Stage Jazz Band. Carlos started his career working for Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store and later worked for the following companies: Oroweat Bread, Nabisco Snacks, Little Debbie, Rainbow Bread, Amigos Tortillas, Greyhound Bus Lines, San Antonio Charters, Avis Rental Cars and finished his career with City Sightseeing San Antonio Tours. Carlos loved to fish, dance, and most importantly spend time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his Mother, Minerva Valadez, and Father, Raul Valadez, and daughter, Dionne Valadez.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Valadez, along with his siblings and their spouses: Roy & Grace Valadez, Clara Valadez Gutierrez, Mario Valadez & Dolores Zepeda, and Rene Valadez; his children and their spouses: Carlos Edward Valadez, Deanna Michelle & Robert Garcia, Moses Valadez & Kim Costigan, Stephanie & Nigel Richards, Carlos Valadez Jr. & Brenda Acosta, and Brian & Melinda Valadez; his step-children and their spouses: Alberto Serna, Juan Serna, Andrew & Stella Pena, Stephen & Laura Pena, Margaret B Pena, Maricela Cardoza, and Joseph A Lopez; his 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N Main St, Friday, January 25, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, January 26, 2019 the Funeral Procession will depart at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at Basilica of the National Shrine of Little Flower, 1715 N Zarzamora St, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd.
