Carmen, a homemaker was a vey kind, compassionate and generous person who loved her pet dog “Queenie“, her companion for 17 years. She enjoyed going to garage sales and having garage sales with her husband. She enjoyed making her own floral arrangements for her garage sales. Carmen loved to sew, cook, and spend time with her family who looked forward to her homemade flour tortillas at Sunday family gatherings and to her delicious homemade tamales every year at Christmas. She also had a beautiful collection of dolls and oriental figurines and her beautiful ivy plants that she cared for which she would claim she talked to all the time.
Carmen was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Mercedes Guerra Coronado, brother, Martin Coronado, her loving husband of 57 years, Tomas A. Rodriguez, and her great grandchildren, Joey Malin and Liliana Belle Kreusel.
Carmen is survived by her brother, Humberto Coronado, her children, Arturo Rodriguez (Virginia), Rudy Rodriguez, and Stella Bernal (Joe); her grandchildren, Gina Marie Noland (Randy), Chris Rodriguez (Robin) and Aaron Rodriguez; Jessica Hernandez, Christine Rodriguez, Rudy Rodriguez Jr., Steven Bernal (Roberta), Gabriel Bernal (Valerie), Briana Bernal-Kreusel (Kevin); great grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, and Megan Noland, Nick, Josh and Jason Rodriguez, Jaycob, Jonathan and Josh Hernandez, Jenna and Emma Bernal; Joseph and Zoe Bernal, Ethan Guerrero; Elliana Belle Kreusel; and great-great grandchild, Jon Erik Hernandez
Visitation will be Monday, July 30, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Service at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main Ave. The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, with interment to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
