

Mrs. Caroline Lucille Krause (née Garrison), age 83, died Friday, 8 January 2010 at the Freedom House Facility of Air Force Village II, San Antonio Texas. Her death followed a long struggle with progressive dementia. She was born on 31 January 1926 in Asheville, North Carolina, the daughter of Mr. Donald Garrison and Fern Garrison (née McDaniel). Mrs. Krause grew up in Georgia and North Carolina and was always an excellent student. In May 1939, she became an honor graduate of College Street School, Fulton County, Georgia. In 1943 she married Elmer Ludwig Krause in Conyers, Georgia. During the early years of their marriage, Mr. Krause was on active duty in the military and his service included overseas assignments during World War II. Their marriage produced three children, Gary Ludwig, Eric Lee, and Kurt Lamont. Mrs. Krause served in several positions during her life. She was the bookkeeper for Suburban Auto Supply in San Antonio and served in several positions at Robert E. Lee High School in both the front office and the library. She kept a large file of her correspondence with many grateful Lee Students and touched many lives during her time there. She had several hobbies during her life, including sewing, walking, square dancing. She was an avid league bowler and had a lot of fun being on a team with her husband, Elmer. Most of all, she loved her husband, her boys and her cats. She is survived by her third son, Dr. Kurt Lamont Krause, of Dunedin, New Zealand and her six grandchildren: Jennifer Brooklyn, Jonathan Krause, Catherine Krause, Christopher Krause, Alexandra Krause and Nicholas Krause. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Please visit www.mem.com for online tributes.
