Clifton John Lampman, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, entered rest on January 9, 2012 at the age of 90. Clifton was born on November 1, 1921near Marion, Texas to Roy and Linda Lampman. His work history included working for Civil Service at Kelly Field and serving at Station X England 17mo during WWII. He also was a painting contractor for 56 years and insurance agent with Hermann Sons for over 28 years and Germania for over 25 years, receiving numerous sales awards. Clifton was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes. He was a member of State Grange of Texas for over 60 years, where he served as Grange State Master for 10 years, and was a delegate to the National Grange Convention for 10 years and also a member of Sons of Hermann Pershing Lodge, serving as president. He was also a member of Cactus Campers RV Club. Clifton enjoyed playing softball and watching all sports, speaking German (his first language) and traveling to Germany 6 times as well as around the country. Clifton was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving family; wife of 67 years, Ruth C. Lampman; their children, Sharon Solanik and husband Chuck; son CJ Lampman and wife Donna; brother, Payton Lampman; sister-in-law Helen Luensmann Lampman; brother-in-law, Charles Kuentz and wife Judy; grandchildren: Darrel Solanik and wife Catherine, Karen Henderson and husband Chris, Sherry Schofield and husband Paul, Marti Hopkins and husband John Michael, Christa Guidry and husband Jason, Darci Lampman; great grandchildren: Thomas Michael, Luke Michael, Abigail Solanik, Shelby Henderson, Rebecca Henderson, Jeffrey Henderson, Andrew Schofield, Matthew Schofield, Caleb Hopkins, Kinleigh Guidry; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Pallbearers: Darrel Solanik, Rusty Lampman, Warren Lampman, Chuck Kuentz, Gary Kuentz, Keith Schneider, John Michael Hopkins and Jason Guidry. Honorary Pallbearers: Paul Schofield, Chris Henderson, Keel Wheless, Russell Rhinehardt, Richard Lampman, Ray Lampman, Roger Lampman, Allan Ray Dittmar. Funeral Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church of Helotes, 9944 Leslie Road, at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery I.
