Concha Cruz

Concha Cruz, beloved mother and grandmother, entered rest on June 22, 2013 from advanced stage of Alzheimer’s Disease at the age of 91. Concha “Connie” was born to Mateo and Concha Garcia in Floresville, Texas on March 19, 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; husband in 1995, Barney L. Cruz and is survived by their three sons: Barney G. Cruz and Gilbert G. Cruz of Helotes, and David Cruz of Boerne; four grandchildren: Monica Cruz Hernandez, Stacy Sanderford, Jeff Cruz, and Shelly Lopez; nine great-grandchildren: Marissa and Diego Hernandez, Zachary, Robert, Henry, Bethany and Elizabeth Sanderford, Ryan and Lauren Lopez; two sisters; Estella Aguilar of San Antonio, Lucia Salinas of Arlington. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to Mass. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II with refreshments being served at the church hall afterwards..
