Daniel Benavides

At the age of 21, on February 1st, 1951, it was at this time in his life that he decided to service our nation.

Daniel went on to enlist in the United States Army and served his country as a Private First Class.

Daniel married Minerva Benavides on April 25th, 1954 and was adoringly married to the love of his

life for 52 wonderful years. Becoming a husband, father and later a grandfather was truly the greatest

blessing to Daniel. He is fondly remembered as being a loyal, loving and kind man. He was the

bright light of the Benavides family - always bringing everyone together through his vivid stories and

memories acquired from a full life. He was full of love and funny as heck. He told some great stories

and was a good listener. Above all this he was a loyal husband who never replaced our Mom who

passed away 15 years ago.

His family and friends will dearly miss him, but take comfort knowing that he has been reunited

with his loving wife after 15 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife Minerva Benavides, Benavides Twins and two sons Robert

Benavides, Sr. and Richard Benavides. Left to cherish his memory are his children...

Granddaughter Jacqueline Marie Tijerina and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A visitation for Daniel will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A rosary service will occur Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 4401 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78214. A committal service will occur Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
