Remembering and missing my first cousin.

Candy and Cathy,
 On behalf of our Family, I am sending our sincerest prayers and condolences. Our families go all the way back to when Donny arrived, and we have been intertwined ever since. I am sending loving hugs to all of you. May God continue to wrap his loving arms around you all in this time of grief.

Donny was my only Uncle. When I was growing up, he picked me up from school, took me to movies, waterparks and everywhere else I asked. I had no father figure in my life and he was always there to make sure I knew what was right and what was most certainly wrong. He was a beautiful spirit, a kind loving and gentle man. But most importantly, I never once heard him complain about his situation and it was not ever a time that I saw him and he did not have a smile on his face.  The last memory I have of him that I will always remember is him having the opportunity to meet my youngest son, Bryson Hannon. He was able to hold him in his hospital bed. And most certainly I will always remember; while enduring all the hurt and pain he was going through, he smiled and enjoyed the sounds of Phil Collins 'In the Air tonight", outside of the hospital with his nephew (Blair), and his sister Cathy. I love you so much Uncle Donny, you will truly be missed. Say Hi to my mama for me.

Missing my beloved first cousin. Donnie and I last saw each other in 1995 on one of my business trips to San Antonio. My Dad and his Dad were two years apart in age, and looked like twins. Even though we met only twice in life, our Hannon family bond was always present, and not even distance can separate our strong Hannon family love re all the cousins, especially the first cousins.  Candy, Cathy, Keli and Blair, we, your first cousins of Alvin J. Hannon II - Nita, Kay, Mirian, Alvin II, our spouses Darryl, Lorenzo, Carlos, and Angela, our children, Brandon, Britny, Tiffany, Lauren, Julie, Alvin III, aka AJ, and Ryann, love you and are here for you if you need us for anything. We are very saddened we cannot be there with you physically, but again our hearts, our minds and our thoughts re our family bond as proud Hannons will always be with you. To Candy and family. I was sorry to hear about the passing of Donald. I only met Donald one time.

He is survived by his older sisters Daron “Candy” Durham and Cathy Vega along with her husband Angel Vega; his niece Keli Dailey; his nephew Blair Hannon; Cindy Vega (Luis) and her son Andrew; Christian Vega and Jeremy Vega and many other loving relatives across America. 

Donny was preceded in death by his sister Debra Hannon and brother Darryl Wilson, as well as his father Herbert Lee Hannon and mother Josephine Gloria White.
