Elena J. Casares

Elena J. Casares, beloved mother and grandmother, entered rest on July 2, 2012 at the age of 90. She was born to Federico and Anita Jimenez on August 27, 1921. Elena was a devout catholic and a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She was a firm believer in the power of prayer. Elena enjoyed gardening and arts and crafts. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Pete Casares, Jr. She is survived by their children, Nina H. Castillo, Pete Casares, III and wife Betty, Irma C. Peña; grandchildren: Leo Castillo, Jr, Patricia Gonzales, Rebecca Berkman, Ruth Gonzalez, Paul Casares, Brenda Jean Peña; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
