Elvira V. Martinez

Elvira V. Martinez entered eternal rest in New Whiteland, IN on June 27, 2015 at the age of 85. She was born in San Antonio, Tx, to Guadalupe and Rita Vasquez on June 25, 1930; and now reunites with her parents; husband of 69 years, Hipolito L. Martinez, daughter, Rebecca Diana Liesering; grandchildren: Charles, Santos, Travis, Jacob; siblings: Irma Cruz, Maria Elena Rodriguez, and Arnulfo Vasquez. She is survived by her children: Rita Hyde, Hipolito Martinez, Olivia Quiroga, Joann Graphman, Olga Wilson, Virginia Ballard-Wentworth, Marie Kennedy, Lydia Martinez, Christina Collins, Edward Martinez, Maria Bryant, Melissa Harrison, Christina Farias; step-daughter, Rosario Cardenas; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. Elvira enjoyed the company of her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She had quite the green thumb, and could nurse a wilting plant back to health. Her presence will be missed greatly by all that knew her. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Services will continue on Monday, July 6, 2015 with a procession departing the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. to celebrate a 9:00 a.m. Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic Church,3107 N. St Mary's. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m.
