Esperanza G Martinez

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Esperanza G. Martinez, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away on February 26, 2014. A native of San Antonio, she was born on August 24, 1923 to Victor and Maria Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Augustine R. Martinez; and brother, Arturo Gonzalez. She is loved and will be missed by her daughters, Diana M. Hernandez, Mary Ann Rivera (Fernando); grandchildren: Michelle Luna (Joe), Melissa Trevino-Abrams (Jeremy), and Charles Rivera; great-grandchildren: Mariah and Christian Cruz, Destiny and Daniel Trevino; siblings: Belen Trevino, Robert Gonzales, and Gerardo Gonzales. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014 to celebrate a 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Leo’s the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.The family wishes to thank Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care they gave our mother. Our mom was a true Spurs and Tim Duncan fan; at her request, she wanted friends and family to wear Spurs attire or Spurs colors.
