Esther M. Gutierrez

Esther loved fishing, feeding the ducks, sitting on her porch and feeding the cats, and perhaps most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with all of her dogs. She also would go to VFW post 76 with her husband on the weekends to enjoy music and dancing and cooking for the holidays for her family, especially on New Year's and Thanksgiving, when she would make her beloved Thanksgiving stuffing.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Fermin Gutierrez; her daughter, Elizabeth Maldonado (David); her 4 grandchildren, Roman Gutierrez (Gilbert), Gabriella McCoy (Matthew), Dominique Maldonado (Mario Ramirez), Devohn Maldonado; her 3 great grandchildren, Sophia McCoy, Wyatt McCoy, Aurora McCoy; her sisters, Romanita Salinas, Mary Lou Alvarado, Amalia Santillan, Lucinda Rodriguez, Luisa Araiza; and her brother, Carlos Martinez.

Esther is Preceded in death by her loving parents, Carlos and Paulita Martinez; and her sister Lindy Martinez.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers, 515 N Main Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78205, on July 13, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the Rosary at 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Cecilia's Catholic Church, 125 W Whittier St, San Antonio, Texas 78210, on July 14, 2026, at 9:30 am.

A Graveside Service will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #2, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209, at 11:15 am.
