Esther Castillo Pelayo entered into eternal rest on April 28, 2016. Born to Mariano and Irene Castillo on June 23, 1938, she now reunites with her parents and brothers, Steven and Mariano. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joe Pelayo; children: Sharon (John) Simonick, Loraine (Jeffrey) Driskill, Joe (Krista) Pelayo; grandchildren: Joe, Mark, Alyssa, Austin, Abigail, Alayna, Ashli; great-grandchildren: Danica, Leonardo, Mila; brothers, Joe and Anthony; great aunts and uncles, and numerous other relatives. Esther enjoyed dancing, but her most cherished moments were surrounded by her loving family. The family will be receiving guests at Roy Akers funeral home, 515 North Main Avenue on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. to celebrate a 10:00 Mass at St. Gregory's Catholic Church,700 Dewhurst. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II.
