Our beloved mother Evangeline (Angie) Luis passed away on August 6, 2022 into the loving embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ and Our Lady of Guadalupe at the age of 94. She married the love of her life Alejo on April 22, 1955. Mom was preceded in death by her husband Alejo, her daughter Sandra and son Richard. She is survived by her five children, Luis Luis, Charlie Luis, Leti Padilla, Linda Obregon and Robert Luis, 18 grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. She was born on February 28, 1928, to Frederico Cano and Dolores Garcia in Mercedes Texas. She worked for Finesilver for 15 years and Miller Curtain for 20 years until she retired. Her favorite past time was going to casinos and playing the lottery. She was a great cook and was always making tamales, cooking and making empanadas, buenelos during the holidays. Mom also liked to go dancing. Mom was always ready and willing to help people out and made them feel welcomed in her house. Her one important goal was to purchase a home in her name. With little education she accomplished that goal. She was a great mother to her sons and daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She would always remind us to believe in God and never give up your dream. She set a good example for us which is one of the best gifts she gave us. She followed her own advice until the good Lord called her home. The family would like to thank Javier Zeocha, her Dr. Tom Gonzaba and La Differencia Hospice for their assistance during this difficult time.
Rest in peace cherished mother and may “Eternal rest grant unto her and let Perpetual Life Shine Upon you”.
