Helen R. Brune

Helen Ruiz Brune entered rest on May 21, 2014 at the age of 93. A native of San Antonio, she was born to Felix Ruiz and Hilaria Guerrero on March 3, 1921. Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 50 years Juan R. Brune. She is survived by a daughter, son and daughter-in-law; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Helen was a hopeful, determined, strong, and independent woman who was born into modest means and strived to help her family achieve. She helped her husband and family by working as a seamstress in a clothing factory for most of her life and led with quite strength. She enjoyed helping others, taking flowers to the church and she loved to “dance”. She stressed education, love, and a worship of God. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church (617 S. Santa Rosa).
